About Mark Vasak

Mark Vasak is a certified Alexander Technique (AT) teacher, has a Master of Occupational Therapy from the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine and holds a Bachelor of Music from the Capilano University Jazz Studies program.  With this unique background in embodied movement, rehabilitation, and performance Mark teaches his students to reconnect to and develop their intrinsic poise throughout many stages and challenges of life.

Currently, most of his time is dedicated to teaching Alexander Technique in the Acting for Stage and Screen program in Capilano University’s Theatre Department and raising his daughter.  He also runs a private practice comprised of dedicated students working to improve posture, overcome movement impairments due to injury or illness, and optimize performance in a wide variety of fields requiring mindful movement.

Mark is actively engaged in communicating and fostering research on the Alexander Technique and its teaching. He is a member of the Society of Teachers of The Alexander Technique Research Group (SRG) and co-founder of the newly updated Alexander Studies Online (ASO) project.
